When I was wondering and searching for what to get for my 7-year-old cousin as a birthday gift,the Tracked Racer Bricks Set from GULO GULO really intrigued me.This Technical RC Tracked Stunt Vehicle featuring blocks building, App remote-control modes and dramatic appearance is sure to greatly arouse interest and curiosity of little boys.So today we’re going to be reviewing about this stunning tracked vehicle.

— The Stories Behind Tracked Vehicle —

Roads used to be very muddy and bumpy in some remote areas, making it impassable for carriage wheel. In that circumstance, the idea of using pedrail wheel came up. Compared to traditional wheels, the surface of caterpillar tracks is much larger, which helps to spread out the weight of the vehicle coming down on the ground.Therefore, tracked vehicles can easily pass the soft ground rather than sinking into it, greatly solving the problems of transportation.

Nowadays, the pedrail structure plays a great role in all kinds of fields, such as engineering, military areas and vehicle toys as well. Since LEGO launched the first Track Dozer Bricks Set in 1979, there have been all kinds of track vehicle building blocks on the market. Today, after designers combined tracked vehicle bricks set with remote-controlled racer, this novelty toy has much more to look forward to.     

The track structure can create greater moving performance, more interesting modeling and brings more fun to the game of vehicle toys. What’s more, kids can also learn a lot about the real track vehicles while playing with the tracked stunt racer.

— Set Features —

Hi guys. Welcome back. The delivery of my order was fast enough for I received my package within two weeks. I couldn’t wait to open it immediately. I was absolutely surprised by the luxurious packaging of this GULO GULO toy. It was told that only order dispatched from the European warehouse could own this exquisite packaging. So perfectly it was prepared to give my cousin as his birthday present and of course, he loved the packaging box so much that he decided to keep it after taking the toy car out.

On the front of the black cardboard box, there is a picture of two different colored stunt racer, which looks pretty, stylish and kind of cool.

Then I started to open the packaging box and see what was inside. There were lots of components included. An instruction manual, a sticker sheet, nine separated bags of parts for building and a electric motor as well as a charging cable together in another one bag.

As the parts are not packed in numbered bags, you have to take all of them apart from bags for building.Taking careful look at some of the plastic parts,they have excellent textures, exquisite details and there are no defects. Very satisfied considering their good quality.

There are 448 pieces in total,which is a relatively small number among blocks toys, meaning the building process won’t be too complex for kids.

Besides,the instruction manual includes a multitude of distinct illustrations, which clearly show the building steps.It took my cousin, a novice,about four hours to finish the whole building procedure and it was an appropriate challenge for him because there were no many skills required. This sense of achievement built up his confidence of practical ability and inspired his new interest in vehicle building. With appropriate difficulty, I believe this Racer Bricks Toy can develop kids’creativity, improve their thinking and problem-solving skills without undermining their confidence.

— Completed Model —

The finished model looks like a dramatic tracked off-roader presented in vibrant blue and yellow, featuring large tracks, long bulk, and fancy details. Dimensions of this completed model measure 21cm(8.27in)x14.5cm(5.71in)x12.5cm(4.92in). The height excludes the antenna.

There are two different choices of the colors, orange and blue, both of which are equipped with a set of color stickers and replacement parts. Personally, I prefer the blue one while orange is my cousin’s favourite. I think the yellow-blue color scheme is very vibrant and good-looking.

I have to admit that the completed model of the GULO GULO Stunt Racer do look cool from both the front view and side view and has excellent details. My cousin and I really like the three transparent button-like plastics used as headlights on the roof of the car, adding some real dynamism.

And the rear part of the tracked vehicle looks very authentic with 3 red tail lights and several exhausts on either side of the vehicle.

Two large fuel tanks on the side of the bodywork make the vehicle look very powerful. The RC antenna well designed as a flag pole makes the vehicle look quite cute. It is very cool in my cousin’s eyes.

By the way, this GULO GULO RC Tracked Racer is equipped with rechargeable battery of 500mAh capacity and one charging cable is included. What’s special is that changing the batteries is not a problem at all as the GULO GULO designers have made the charging port outside the vehicle. So there is no need to remove sections of the completed bodywork, which is quite convenient.

— DUAL RC MODES —

This GULO GULO Technical RC Tracked Vehicle supports dual remote control modes, compatible with both wireless controller and mobile phone APP. 

The mini remote controller looks very adorable, with only two joysticks. It surprised us with flexible operation. It can not only move the vehicle forward, backward, left and right, but also make it rotate 360 degrees as well.

App control supports four controlling modes, including Remote Mode, Gyro Mode, Path Mode and Program Mode. And we’re pleased to report that it is an excellent feature, which largely enriched the game.

The Gyro Mode is our favorite, for we can change the moving direction of the racer by simply tilting the phone, which brought us a lot of fun.

The Remote Mode is equal to a remote control in function with four control buttons, making the toy car move forward, backward, left and right.

And the Path Mode allows you to draw up the moving path on the phone in order to customize and control the path of the toy car.

Lastly the Program Mode. This means that there are all kinds of moving modes on the APP and a free combination of them controls the movement of the toy car according to your settings. Here was my example. Firstly I created my own program and then the racer just went forward for one second and then turned left for one second.

Helpfully, languages of the APP can also be switched from Chinese into English.

— Set! Go! —

After fully charging the battery for two hours, it was time to set the Stunt Racer off! This GULO GULO Tracked Racer moves flexibly, being able of straightly moving forward, reversing and 360-degree turning. And it is adapted to multiple terrains and has high dynamic performance and obstacle-climbing ability. My cousin and I took it outside, and it can smooth through the grass and some hard-packed earth.

I think the structural design of the caterpillar track really helps improve the motion performance and prevent the racer from sticking in the mud. This GULO GULO Tracer Vehicle can move with an astonishing speed, at approximately 23.6in per second, which is kind of beyond our expectations. We never assumed a Bricks Vehicle can run so fast.

The structure of this completed GULO GULO Stunt Racer is very stable.During our several days of playing, the caterpillar band never came off.So did other parts of the vehicle bodywork. However, one importantaspect of this set I have to mention is that you need to check the tautness of all the wheels before the play and make sure you adjustthem to almost the same tightness. If not, the stunt racer will easily deviate its course during the play.

The fully-charged battery enabled us about 1 day of playing time.My cousin was really obsessed with playing with this GULO GULO Stunt Racer and often brought it outside to play with me or with other kids. 

By the way, I also ordered my own GULO GULO Tracked Vehicle to play with. During my playing with my cousin, unlike some technical products of poor quality, there were no signal interference for this GULO GULO toy when we separately connected our stunt racers to two phones. 

I was so glad that I picked exactly the right gift for my cousin and it did win me the favor of him.

— Summary —

All in all, this RC Tracked Racer Building Blocks from GULO GULO creates double build-and-play experience. On one hand, it is very awesome to play with. Featuring four APP remote control modes and flexible operation, it creates an amazing playing experience for both kids and adults. For the other hand, with appropriate building difficulty, it improves kids’ practical and thinking skills, builds up their confidence and gives them a real sense of achievement, making it a perfect and ideal gift for kids aged between 7 and 10.
