【Gulo Gulo Reviews】Architecture : 18K K128 Arkham Asylum Model

 

  Hello everyone,this is Ariel,today I am glad to share with you another large building blocks set,the 18K K128 Arkham Asylum.

  Arkham Asylum, the full name is : The Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane, located on the outskirts of Gotham City,is one of the most well-known classic buildings in DC comics. You can understand it as the "abnormal human research center" in Batman's world, where most of the prisoners are extremely dangerous criminals with high intelligence. It can be said that all the well-known villains in the "Batman" series will eventually be sent here by Batman himself,including the famous "Joker", "Harley Quinn", "Bain", "Penguin", "Double-faced", "Riddler", "Scarecrow", "Poison Ivy", "Mr. Frozen" ", "Killer Crocodile", "Clay Face", "Mad Hatter", etc., can be described as dazzling stars.

  K128 set, the prototype design is from moc-30788(designer is Harry HAN). The whole set of building blocks is composed of 7620 bricks, a total of 2 manuals, with stickers and no figures.

  All the parts in this set are clearly divided into 24 different bags according to building steps. 

  Now,let’s start the assembly.

  Bag 1

  Bag 2

  This bag of parts is mainly for the assembly of the confinement room. Each room is equipped with a white flush toilet.Also,the confinement door here has a very interesting setting.You can open a single door, or to pull two doors together.

  Bag 3

  This bag of parts is mainly for the assembly of the shower room and laundry room.The drum washing machine in the laundry room is very cute.

  Bag 5

  In the room on the left side of the stairs is the prison's visiting room with 2 sets of telephones.

  Bag 6

  In the room on the right side of the stairs is the Security Check Room,after the prisoner enters the door, he will go through the security device to check whether there are any prohibited items on his body.

  Bag 7

  Ok,the 1st floor is finished.

  This floor is mainly the office lobby, including the security check area, visitation room, confinement room, shower room and laundry room. Both the front door and the back door can be opened and closed freely. On both sides of the front door are decorated with statues of two guards, very mighty.

  Bag 8

  This bag is mainly for the assembly of the plant research room and a room that is not yet known for what purpose. The door of the plant research room is transparent and is equipped with a code lock,you need to enter the correct code to enter.

  Bag 9

  With this package, we continue to improve the layout of the second floor. First, surround the fence in the corridor. Second, install the stairs to the third floor and build a simple leisure area next to it. Finally, assemble 4 spare small rooms.

  Bag 10

  As a place for detention and treatment of mental patients, confinement rooms are never too small. We will continue to build two confinement rooms on the second floor. In addition, do you remember the unclear room mentioned in package 8? This room was originally a monitoring room.Sitting in front of the computer screen, you can clearly observe the actions of the patients.

  Unbelievable, whose masterpiece is this plant that broke through the wall?

  This package is mainly used to build a medical laboratory. The space is huge, with colorful bottles and cans placed in it, and there is an adjustable laboratory bed, which feels like a place for illegal experiments.

  Bag 14

  Here we get a director's office next to the medical laboratory.There is a menu on the desk in the dean's office, which says today's dishes.

  Bag 15 and 16

  There is also a large canteen on the third floor with perfect facilities.

  The last floor is the roof, the decoration is very simple, except for the chimney, the most eye-catching is the bat searchlight.

  Bag 19 and 20

  There is a freezer here with a freezing device inside.

  After finishing these two bags, the lunatic asylum is basically completed. Next, let's build the part of the wall.

  

  Bag 21 to 24

  Product display

  There is an interesting and surprising design,the back of the building can be separated from the middle to the sides,allow you to check the inside details.

  Next is the layered display and introduction.

  Top roof,Including a searchlight that summon Batman, a row of chimneys that look like ice cream, a freezer compartment, and a door that leads to the third floor.

  Third floor,medical district,Including canteen, dining area, dean's office and medical laboratory.

  Second floor,isolation area,including a plant research room,a monitoring room,2 confinement rooms and 4 unused rooms.

  First floor,confinement area(office lobby),including 2 confinement rooms, 1 security check area, 1 small fitness area, 1 security room, 2 shower rooms, 1 laundry room, and 1 visiting room.

  The entire lunatic asylum is surrounded by walls, with sharp edges and corners at the top to prevent people from climbing the walls and entering. There are illuminated street lights outside the wall, and two guard statues are placed on both sides of the black iron gate. Open the door, you can see a lush tree on the right.

advantages

1.High simulation modeling,with rich and exquisite details.

2.The subcontracting is fairly detailed and it is easy to assemble by following the steps of the instruction. 

3.Stable structure,each layer can be removed and installed easily.

4.The back of the building can be opened to both sides for easy viewing of internal details. This is a very interesting design.

disadvantages

1.There are scratches on the transparent parts, which affect the appearance.

2.The edge of the bottom plate is a bit cocked.

3.Some parts are loose, such as stairs(often fall off).

4.The sticker quality is a bit poor.

5.It is a pity that there is no lighting.

  Overall, this set of blocks is worth collecting, especially for DC fans.
